The best robot vacuum and mop pet hair automatic vacuum for pet hair (click here for more)
It isn’t easy to keep your home free of pet hair and dander, especially if you have pets. Robot vacuums are able to handle it all, including the pet hair that’s often found in carpets and rugs.
These four models are excellent in removing pet hair off various flooring. They also have a feature for reactive obstacle avoidance, as well as the ability to customize them via apps.
1. Dyson V15 Detect
The Dyson V15 Detect is the most recent model of the popular cordless stick range. While it looks a lot like its predecessors on the outside, this model has several significant improvements. Most notably, it has a stronger motor that produces 230 air watts – that’s 24 percent more suction power than the predecessors. It can also identify and count the size of dust particles it picks up. The information is displayed on the LCD display.
This is a fantastic feature that is particularly useful for pet owners because it proves that your floors have been cleaned. The V15 Detect also introduces a different Dyson innovation that has since been added to its other models with the laser beam fluffy roller attachment. This attachment is powered by lasers of class 1 (so it’s safe for pets and humans) mounted on its motorised hard floor head to highlight the smallest dust particles on the floor, making it easier to determine if you have missed anything during a cleaning routine.
In our tests the V15 performed well in picking up pet hair from carpets with low piles and bare. It was able to eliminate a good amount of debris even from high-pile flooring. However, we recommend leaving the suction gate partially open on its multi-surface head. It has a larger dustbin than the Miele Classic C1, feels more durable and lighter, has fewer parts that require maintenance, and charges faster.
However, the trigger operation can be exhausting for certain users when they are cleaning for long periods of time. Some users might be intimidated by the smaller bin (less than a Liter). It’s also difficult to move on carpeted floors.
2. Tineco PURE ONE S11
The Tineco PURE ONE is an affordable cordless vacuum with an unconventional feature it has a built-in dirt sensor that automatically adjusts the suction power as you move the vacuum across your floor. This allows you to move the stick vacuum and ensures the same results for debris removal. During testing the S11 excelled at picking up pet hair on floors and low-to high-pile carpet. It also took away sand from carpets with medium piles and various smaller particles. The S11 is also easy to store. It has a stand to keep the cordless vacuum upright and a storage rack with a clip for two attachments and an rechargeable battery that can transform the machine into a hand vac.
The PURE ONE S11 unlike other stick vacuums that we tested, has an info display which shows the battery’s lifespan in real-time, as well as the status of the attachment. The iLoop dirt sensors of the S11 also provide information on the status of the vacuum’s cleaning and whether the vacuum is picking up dirt or has encountered an obstruction or brushroll tangle.
The S11 companion app lets you monitor the battery’s life, alter suction settings, and also check the intervals for maintenance and replacement for the HEPA filter, automatic vacuum for pet hair dustbin and pre-filter. The interface of the app is simple and responsive, and free of delay. The S11 is similar in design to the Samsung Jet 90 Complete. However, it has an adjustable rod that enables the vacuum to be adjusted to fit different users. It also has an attachment for turbobrush that is more effective in getting rid of pet hair from upholstery. It also has lower costs for recurring charges and has longer run time on just one charge.
3. Eureka Mighty Mite
The Eureka Mighty Mite is a sleek, compact canister vacuum that gives you versatility and power at a low cost. It is suitable for all floor types and features an impressive 12 amp motor. It comes with large, easily removed dust bags that help reduce the time required for maintenance and cleaning. It’s the ideal vacuum for pet hair since it specializes in removing pet fur and dander.
The Mighty Mite is also a great choice for stairs, because it comes with a pipe that can reach up to nine steps without you needing to remove the main canister from the bottom of the unit. Its small size and light construction make it easy to carry up and down the stairs while navigating furniture and other obstacles. The hose and wand combination can be used to clean above ground as well, which can come in handy when you have to clean drapes or a taller piece of furniture.
This unit is louder than other units on this list. It makes a loud, high-pitched sound that resembles the sound of a dentist’s drill. It draws 1160 watts, which is quite a lot for a canister.
The Eureka Mighty Mite is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a portable, versatile, and effective automated pet hair vacuum. It is easy to keep clean and is effective across all types of floors. If you’re looking for a more sophisticated canister we recommend the Hoover Whirlwind bagless canister. It feels a bit better constructed, has lower recurring costs, and offers more power on both high and low pile carpet.
4. Wyze Cordless Vacuum
If you’re looking for a compact and lightweight cordless vacuum that is able to quickly tackle daily debris The Wyze Cordless Vacuum is a fantastic option. It boasts a high battery-to-power ratio, can reach hard-to-reach areas easily and comes with a handful of handy accessories. The main unit and all attachments weigh less than 2.8 pounds when fully assembled. This makes it easy to move it up and around furniture legs. It comes with a long lasting rechargeable battery and an allergen-trapping HEPA-filter.
PC Mag praised this cordless vacuum for its powerful suction power, respectable 40 minute runtime and basic accessory bundle that comes in at just $140. The brushless motor’s design can reach 110,000 RPM to provide more power with less friction, allowing it to work more efficiently and use less battery energy during the process. It also comes with an additional brush to get rid of pet hair or other debris stuck in cracks or crevices.
In contrast to the Black+Decker dustbuster AdvancedClean+ Pet, the Wyze is smaller, lighter and has a longer maximum runtime. However the Black+Decker does better job of removing debris from bare floors, has an engineered brush that can tackle tougher messes and has a bigger dirt compartment that requires emptying less frequently.
5. Neato D9
Neato is a pioneer in robotic floor maintenance and has been doing so for over 20 years. Their D-shaped robotic cleaners, like the D8 are flat on the front, allowing them to better hug walls than circular robots. This makes them a perfect choice for cleaning corners.
LaserSmart powered by LIDAR is the same technology that self-driving cars use to map your home. They then navigate the area accurately, leaving you with those pleasing straight vacuum lines on your carpet. Their app is extremely user-friendly and offers the option of scheduling cleaning sessions, establish No-Go zones to keep away from areas that need more attention such as pet bowls and toys for kids, and select from a variety of cleaning modes.
The D9 boasts an industry-leading 0.7 milliliter dirt bin. This means it needs less frequent emptying than smaller robots. It also has turbo-mode that has 40% more suction when compared to the D8. A high-performance filter captures 99.5 percent allergens and tiny particles. The D9 can also recharge itself automatically and resume where it left off if its battery runs low during a cleaning.
Neato’s D9 is built well and comes in a premium brushed black finish that looks great with any decor. It has a white Wi-Fi button as well as an information button in addition to a large start/stop button on top. It connects to your home Wi-Fi via an integrated wireless router and also integrates Alexa and Google Assistant. It was simple to install and I had no problems connecting it to my Wi Fi network, or making the app recognize it. The D9 was able to work for 171 minutes on my test clean in eco mode, which is nearly three times longer than best robots I’ve tested. However, it struggled to climb up some low ledges and furniture bases, and it took a while it to get back to the base after charging.
