It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpets however, iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It’s the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle furniture and walls. It’s a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used however we found it only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It’s a nice claim however, we’re not convinced that it’s enough to justify the premium price tag.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors to store the layout of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on higher-end models. The mopping system is even better because its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
It’s only downside is the absence of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. But that’s not a major issue if you want to own one of the best robots on the market.
