The Combo j7+, just like all Roomba models, is great at sucking up dirt. Its intelligent navigation is enhanced by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision which allows the robot to recognize the common objects that it encounters, such as cords or pet waste–and avoid them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ can even avoid furniture, such as high chairs with backs that could catch the robot under them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ realizes that it’s in a place that needs to be cleaned using water, a tiny robot vacuum Mop combo self empty arm rises and swivels a mopping pad beneath it. It’s a highly simple system that performed well during my testing. However, I discovered that it was not able to completely clean away liquids based on water, like wine or juice. They also have effective obstacle avoidance that doesn’t swoop small and light objects, such as toys or socks, across the floor. It’s among the top mopping robots we’ve tested. It has a magnet strip that can be used to block off areas the robot isn’t able to reach, like rooms with a lot of cables.

Unfortunately, the robot vacuum and mop with self emptying is not equipped with the other aspects that are expected of an item of this kind. While the mops do a fantastic job, their maximum runtime is 60 minutes and is less than we’d like to see from a high-end product. Also, it doesn’t automatically empty itself into its charging station or follow up the mopping with the quick vacuum.

But it’s an excellent choice for those with large homes because the mapping and cleaning processes are fast and efficient. The app is simple to use, and you can set schedules. If you don’t have a strong WI-FI connection, you can still control it using the remote or through voice integrations with Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive however it comes with many smart features that make up for the cost. The live monitoring feature for homes is amazing and also looks cool. It’s a great option for families with children or pets, or anyone who needs to monitor their home when they’re away. Most people who own a robotic mop and vacuum combination are amazed at the changes their floors can make after using them often.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

The S7 Max Ultra, Roborock’s new robot vacuum and mop combo self-empty ($1299 on Amazon) is an excellent upgrade to the S6 and S7 models. It has a number of useful features like aggressive mopping, higher suction power (up to 5,100Pa, as opposed to the older models which had 2,400Pa), and more. It also boasts precise lidar navigation, which functions like radar in 3D, meaning it can see things such as baseboards, chair legs and furniture legs, and effortlessly maneuver around them. It can also create customized cleaning routines you can launch by tapping, such as an “After Meals mode” which systematically vacuums and scrubs the kitchen floors.

This robot also comes with a special feature not found on other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plates when it detects carpeting so it doesn’t get the area rug wet, making mopping more efficient. It also features a deep-cleaning mode that mops and vacuums carpets in a single pass and removes more dirt and dust than spinning mops can. You can also use the app to set a schedule for weekly cleaning or to clean on demand.

The S7 Max Ultra is a great device for its intended purposes however, it has certain drawbacks. The cost is the biggest. It’s also the most expensive robot mop and vacuum combination I’ve ever reviewed. Other issues aren’t specific to this particular model, but more typical of robotic vacuums as a category It isn’t able to handle large spills and sticky messes.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to set up: simply connect it and then sync it to your phone via Wi-Fi and start a cleaning run. Once you’ve done that you can modify the settings of the app. For example you can create cleaning zones that are not allowed or schedule them.

Its impressive obstacle avoidance is a further plus. In the course of testing, it did not get stuck in tight spaces twice, which is much better than the S6 MaxV’s three tries or the X1 Omni’s four attempts. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstacle and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it when cleaning in the future.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is a unique robot that combines mops and vacuums. It’s also one of the less expensive combo bots in our review. The Freo’s impressive cleaning capabilities and wide array of customization options make it a solid option for any home that needs a combination cleaner. The absence of advanced obstacle-avoidance technology, as well as a sleek mobile app dampened our enthusiasm for this model.

The first thing you need to do is scan your space. This will help Freo map the area that it will clean. It takes around 30 seconds to complete this process. Once the Freo has a better idea of where everything is it will be able to navigate more quickly during subsequent cleanings.
